Carbonate 1.1

‘Carbonate 1.1’ is  a study in movement looking at the properties of carbonated water. Filmed on a webcam, it explores the epic quality of minature bubbles under the microscope. The work is the result of an observation of an everyday event exploring the characteristics of the sparkling water and the absence of the glass in which the water is contained within. The  work also functions as a site specific piece where the monitor  screen becomes the gallery space for the webcam data. The title of the work refers to it’s predecessor ‘Carbonate’ which uses the still image setting on the webcam to capture a photo/still of a similar subject.
